  1. There were many maps ive looked at of World War 2. One map I have seen changed the way I've looked at this War. It was a map of Germany and it showed how many Jewish people lived there. Which most of them were killed. It made me think if every Jew was killed and taken that must be alot. There were millions and millions which i changed my perspective alot which i seen that. Also when i seen the pictures of how they were treated skin and bones they had absoloutley no fat on them. The Germans starved them and sometimes they had to go to the bathroom on there dinner plates. I feel very bad for each person that died lost a family member had part of there life wasted in a camp or is just affected by it.

  2. The World War Two was the bloodiest most important war ,it included the stalingrad War that was between Russia and germany. the War included more people like the u.s, Japen, and the french. During the war over 6 million people died in the concentration camps dealing with the most cruliest pumshiments. At the end Hitlar comitied sucide and Germany surrenders on May 7th.

  4. What i've learned about World War 2 was that when the war began Germany was the aggressor, later they were joined in the war by Italy and Japan in June 1940. The war agins Japan nearrly took up 2/3rds of the worlds surface. That was one thing that really amussed me.

  5. well...on September first 1939 is when the germans invaded Poland which is located in Europe. To continue Britain and France went to war with Germany along with Italy. The Soviet Union remqained under a SECRET group/pact with Germany while they are still occupying Eastern Poland. The Nazi's final solution. They decided to Exterminate the Jewish people!

    thank you !

While Gemans were invading other countries the Soviet Union forces were planing a counterattack on Germany.Following the Gremans surrended in May of 1945.

  11. I think that this is really cruel that people were treated with such disrespect just because they were Jewish. Umm...I also strongly feel that this was one of the most important wars in history.

  13. I belive that World War 2 was one of the most important wars of American history...because without there have being a war we dont know how our world would have been today.

  14. i learned alot about world war 2. i did not know that the jaws were treated different, but not in a good way. aios i did not know that in auguts that the war in the picfic ended after the us dropped atomic bomds on japanse, killing 120,000 people

  15. Felicia me and you think exactly alike cause I also think that World War 2 is one of the most important wars in history!!!!

  16. I think that this was the most deadiest war because there was alot of jews and other groups of people killed. But mostly jews were torcherd in this event.

  17. Alex you're right. And it really upsets me knowing that so many people lost their lives because people have so much hatered in them.

  19. Some things that were important during World War 2 were when the the Gremans invaded and tried to invade other countries. Germany thought that they were unstoppable just because they were killing millions of Jews in thier country. They thought that it would be easy to try and take over many other countries and kill more innocent people but places like the Soviet Union wasn't having it. Another really memorable part of WW2 was when Germany surrendered to Europe after their ruler (Hitler) killed himself

    ReplyDelete
  20. This event was very dangeruos before we the americans even got involved. For example the battle of frace which was a crucial lose for the french.Because they had lost that battle in a couple of weeks.the germans had veriuos concetration camps all around. And the jews were dying every day at those camps.until the day hitler had died and the fiht was over we finally got free countries again

    ReplyDelete
  21. I feel really sad about the jews because they have been tortured by the germans and hitler tried to take over so many countries and it it was just horrible about holocaust and the jews were just treated un fairly and I always say all man are created equal.

    ReplyDelete
  22. There are a bunch of maps that were made in world war 2 that ive lost count about trying to count them altogether. Infact something that was quite interesting in my group that we found, we actually didn't know why hitler wanted to kill the jews and not any of the german people, but then after a while after we got into the story a little bit more we found out that hitler was playing a little mind trick on all the people including the jews and soon enough he sent all of his personal killing squads all over germany to basically devestate it!!!!! and thats exactly why hit shot his own self in the face with a simple hand gun just because his country was finally falling apart again like it did in world war 2!! Mabye germany will become the number 1 country in the world in the future, mabye someone that lives there will change it forever, ya never know what ever gonna happen.

  23. Truly if i was a jew I would literally commet suicide or just go out at night and sneak out while the guards are a sleep.

  24. To Mary M.
    You wrote...
"Which most of them were killed. It made me think if every Jew was killed and taken that must be alot."

    About 5,860,000 Jews were killed.
I'm not sure how many were taken but It couldnt be much more then the amount killed.

  25. I have learned that the nazis used a ton of propaganda not only to exclude the Jews but they also targeted gypsies and all the other people or groups/races that the germans thought as infreior to their race. the propoganda was also used to sort of boost germany's moral. they did this by using the Hitler youth armband and board games encouraging kids to listen to german radio stations. Unfortunatly the propoganda got out of hand and athe nazi party put jewish men in concentration camps unless they were waiting for a visa

  26. The germans were very succesfull against poland and the french who toke a hurrendous loss. but once the americans joined the fight the germans started to take hurrendous losses but the germans surrendered May 2 1945 that was two days after hitlers death. 337,71 jews were killed.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What amazed me the most was how many failed assasination attempts were on hitler. As far as i know around 40 attempts were made and all 40 failed. I also didnt know that Hitler ended up commiting suicide after the war. this is strange because he was such a powerfull man, i didnt think he would be the kind of man to commit suicide.

  28. 1939, September 1st
The day when World War II begins as Britain and France declare war on Germany.

That may be one of the biggest days in history.
Also 8 August 1945 is important day too. That was the day when the war ended. That was 6 years of war.

  29. brittnai also when the germans invaded france they took over france the french took serious losses.

  30. The things I learned where just.....horrible. It's a wonder how war over one Man's speech to get rid of jews cause they ridicouled him.One man started this all. One man out of 7 continetns that got envolved. 26 allied Nations signed declaration with the United States. Hitler had killed 33,771 jews in kiev! In my opinion that is outragous. Hitler was a very friendly guy and loved kids. Many pictures of him are with kids and happy and everything. When it came to the Jews he dispised them. One thing I found out that i didn't know about is that HItler commited suicide. I thought he would have died cause the jews killed him or from battle. This all began with a speech. In that speech he said "In the course of my life I have very often been a prophet, and have usually been ridiculed for it. During the time of my struggle for power it was in the first instance only the Jewish race that received my prophecies with laughter when I said that I would one day take over the leadership of the State, and with it that of the whole nation, and that I would then among other things settle the Jewish problem. Their laughter was uproarious, but I think that for some time now they have been laughing on the other side of their face. Today I will once more be a prophet: if the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, then the result will not be the Bolshevizing of the earth, and thus the victory of Jewry, but the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe!" That was the first threat against The jews, from then on the war started... Who knew a man that could do something great would have so much termoil and madness to start one of the worst wars i've heard of in history. To him madness is like gravity....all hilter had needed was a little push[which where the jews]

    ReplyDelete
  31. To chais K you said "jews were tortured the most" there was tons of jews who were not only tortured but killed and taken away from their families.

    ReplyDelete
  32. i agree with ryan. I never would think a man who had the power in the palm of his hands, who lead for six years, would give it all away from his work he created and commite suicide. In my opinion i think either the guilt of what he did may have got to him or he just couldnt take it anymore. That was a wasted six years of war....

  33. World war 2 began when Germany invaded Poland on September 1st 1939. from 1940-1941 the Germans invaded countries all throughout Europe such as Belguim, France, Netherlands Yugoslavia,Norway, and Denmark. In 1941 Germany attacked Russia. over the next three years Russia pushed into Germany and the allied forces traveled up through North Africa, through Italy, liberated France and closed in on Germany. The Germans surrendered on may 2 1945 2 days after Hitler killed himself

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dana P, you look like you have studied extremely hard at looking at WW2 the phrase from which Hitler says is unique, With that quote he is very satisfied with his work, and agree's that he has done the "right thing" but in my opinion he has crushed and destroyed so many lives.

    ReplyDelete
  35. With the information I found, Germany was a very powerful country, it took over almost most of the world in the 1930s, killing over 12 million people, and 6 million of the 12 were Jews. The maps I have found are the battle plans and important battles they have fought. Eventually Germany was conquered by Europe in 1945. Many countries allied with Germany because they were probably scared of them, and some of them were allied with the Soviet Union and France. The German invasion started on September 1, 1939 against Poland. In that response of the attack on Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany. The battle raged on for over 6 years. Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria allied with Germany. Germany attacked the Soviet Union in May 1945 Germany surrendered to the defeat of Europe. My opinion is that from 1935 to 1942 Germany took A LOT of land, they have doubled their forces through those 7 years, allied with many countries, and killed millions of people, to me this shows that Germany was very brutal and a lot with a various amount bloodshed between the Jews, and other regions that he did not believe was equal. Hitler was very evil, he was persuasive and he made everyone believe he wouldn’t hurt them. I don’t understand why Hitler would do something like this, but something could of ticked off in his head that he suddenly just didn’t like the way they were. Maybe it was the way he was raised. Who knows? All I know is that Hitler was a powerful leader.

  36. Nick G - Was Germany really defeated by Europe? Find out who the allied forces were. How do you think Germany should have been handled after the war?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Msell- I think Germany should be handled very strictly after all of the people they have killed, I dont believe they should be tortured but i do believe they could be executed.

  38. During WWII the allies were Poland, France, Britain, Norway, Denmark, and the US. The axis powers or the Nazis were Germany, Japan, Italy, and Hungary. The Soviet Union started out supporting the Nazis when they signed the German-Soviet Pact of Nonaggression in August of 1939at the start of WWII; however when Germany invaded Russiaa on June 22, 1941 the pact was discarded and the Soviet Union became an Ally. It concerns me that some countries can be so power-hungry that they did what the axis powers did. How could anyone support them?!? They were horribel! Those poor Jews! It's sad that a group of people could do that to another. When you think about it though that is kind of what we do to our enemies when we are at war; we shoot them in an attempt to kill them so our intentions are the sasme even if our motives aren't

  39. There were several events that had a major impact on the outcome of the war. For example, on September 3-5, 1939 Britain, France, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand declared war on Germany pretty much starting the fighting. Nearly a year later Italy declared war on Britain and France in response to this and then a month later the Battle of Britain began. Germany and Italy were wrealing havoc everywhere so on June 14, 1941 the US froze their assets. Nearly a year passed before the next major battle began: the Battle of Stalingrad. From November 1942 until July 1944 four battles raged: the Battle of Barents Sea, the Battle of Kasserine Pass, The Battle of the Atlantic, and the Battle of the Hedgegrows. In October of 1943 italy turns and declares wra on Germany. Finally in September of 1944 Finland and the Soviet Union agree to a cease-fier which is the turning point. Up 'til then the Nazis had been winning most of the wars, but after this the allies start winning. Finally on September 2, 1945 the Nazis surrendered ending WWII. I can't believe how much bombing there was! I feel so bad for those innocent people who had to live through the war. It must be hard to have to watch your back all the time to make sure you don't get killed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nick G- Wow you have a lot of good information there! I never knew that only half the amount killed were Jews. I thought they were the main targets. Was there another specific group that was slaughtered or was it just innocent bystanders? Or perhaps causulties of the war?

  41. I found a lot of good maps doing my research. It is amazing to me how much land Germany was able to take over in a matter of a couple years. They went from a little chunk of land to ruling almost all of Europe along with their allies.

  42. World War II all started in 1939, when Germany invaded Poland. Because of the Polish invasion, France and Britain declared war against Germany. However, France and Britain’s forces was not even nearly a match for Germany. The German forces continued invaded countries just has they did before, invading; Norway and Denmark, and a bunch of the lower countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. It amazes me of how much Germany accomplished in 3 years. They didn’t do it all by their-selves however, the also got help from countries such as Japan, who bombed the U.S Naval Base, Pearl Harbor, on Dec. 7, 1941, killing 2,350 Americans. This is what I think got the U.S involved in the war. Towards 1945, The Soviet Union joined forces with Great Britain and the other Allies, to defeat Germany. Ending the tragic World War II.

    ReplyDelete
  43. World War II started when the Germans invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. Britain and France declared war on Germany. They also declared war on all of Germany’s allies. The Soviet Union occupied eastern Poland, but didn’t pick a side in the war. They probably feared the German empire
In the next two years Germany successfully invaded Denmark, France, Yugoslavia, and Greece.
In 1941, Germany attacked the Soviet Union. And again in 1942. This attack brought the Nazi Germany farther into Soviet occupied land. During 1942 Germany and Italy pushed into south France.
Then in 1942 and in ’43, The soviet Union started to fight back, pushing the Germans back before they could get to the Soviet Union Capitol in Moscow. While in the west the allies (The United States, Great Britain and France) Started to liberate North Africa and Italy. Then in 1944 the allies landed in Northern France and started to free Western Europe.
The Germans surrender in 1945. They did so with the Soviet Union almost to Berlin, and the allies and liberated France invading in the west.

  49. Nick G.- Hitler thought that he was doing the right thing when he was killing all of the Jews that he killed. I don't know what was wrong with him or why he thought that way but he thought that killing the Jews was doing a good thing for his country and that it would get him into heaven. It might've been because of the way that he was raised. Did you know that Hitler's father abused him and his brother when they were little and that his brother ranaway because he was tired of the abuse? That might've had a big affect on him and may have led him to think that way.

  50. wowza Alex, that's a lot of people. i feel sorry for all of the inocent people that died during this hard time, it makes you value your own life more and relize how lucky you are to be safe. i dont think i could last long in that environment. do you think anything like this might happen again? they say that history repeats itself but i hope it does'nt...

i know what you mean, there were a whole bunch of maps and i was having trouble picking which one to use.
And that does make sense that he was playing a mind trick on them, if you ask me its quite twisted and evil.
a question though, was Germany ever not falling apart???They seem to be a unlucky country from what i have seen and heard.

  63. Does anyone know how many of the Jewish people committed suicide, or at least attampted to?
With the way they were treated, I imagine that many of them couldn't bear it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yeah if i probably or may have lived in geremany in w w 2 i would be long gone dead by now!!!! Whether if i was a gerean or a jew, ya know that is what was excactly hitlers problem, he only cared about himself not for anyone else but just himself and also i feel really bad for the jews because ys know those jews didn't even deserve to die in the first place. Maybe hitler could of been kind enough to provide some clothing and good food to them but he refused!! im probably assuming that when hitler shot himself for no reason what so ever he probaly went to the place of tourcher instead of the peacefully heaven so that he could finally learn his real lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Dana, I didn't know that either! I wouldn't have thought Hitler would kill himself. With how much power he had, you'd think he had died in battle.

  71. Kaitlyn S - You have found ALOT of information that i have not known about, i did not know that Japan allied with Germany, Do you know exactly why they did? Were they threatened by Germany?

    ReplyDelete
  72. In 1939 Germany started world war two by invading Poland. Hitler was always a kid who could talk his way out of trouble as a young boy, Hitler started killing people as he judged unworthy of life. He was a great speaker so he could talk every one into do what he wanted to do and convince them with posters he posted up and things to persuade about how he doesn’t like Jews and how they were so bad because they try to act like something they weren’t and a long time ago if u were a good speaker u could get every ones attention because there were no TV’s, and that’s how he used propaganda. When Hitler started to put people in these concentration camps he wiped them burned them and buried them alive, these things he did to people came from his bad experiences as a young boy from his dad treating him bad and yelling at him. He didn’t like Jews that’s the people he tortured and killed. In 1945 Germany surrendered to west allies, and then the war in the pacific ended after U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on the Japanese.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Personally I believe that WWII should never have happened. It only occured because some of the Germans were way too concerned with the apperances of other people. Seriously, worry about yourself and make sure your apperance, mentality, and religion are where you want it and let other people worry about themselves. I mean the government is obviously more than a little corrupt when they start shipping people off to concentration camps to be massacred! I know it goes against the grain, but imagine how the world we be if we worried only about ourselves. There would probably be no suicide bombers, no wars, and no terrorists. Most of the problems we are facing now is because people decided that the way of life another group was living was wrong.

  74. Allegra why did the germans try to invade other countreis

    ReplyDelete
  75. Allegra you are right because Hitlers dad had abused him and his brother. His brother had ran away at the age of fourteen because he couldnt take any more of the chaetisement.Sooner when Adolf got older at the age of 16 he had left the house. The beating did not start at birth but it started after his dad had left his job and when his brother had left.It automatically had got passed down to him.

i agree with you, except for the fact that world war II should have never happened. because we have learned so much from it. just like everything else we have learned from history. and plus if it hadnt happened we wouldnt know the things we do know, and something like world war II would happen eventually.
but i agree that if people worried less about others peoples appearances or religon, the world would be a much peaceful/better place.
