  1. Nazi propaganda was enormous part in the holocast. Propaganda means to spread did to promote thier ways of communism. The important tools for the nazis were opinions and expession. Nazi used simple language to commuicated with. But they also refused to admit problems and find another part to a guestion. For example Hitler cosider to sell jews out to germany in the world war one. Joseph Goebbels as the minster of public enlightment and propaganda. The Nazis philosophy was that they wanted to kill the jews and get cruil punished to jews.

  2. Propaganda is the deliberate spreading of such information. Propaganda played a big role in Jews being captured and killed.Hitlers philosophy was to capture, kill, torture, and disgrace the jews. In all reality he wanted the nazis to rule all of germany.Joseph Goebells was a german politician who was the minister of propaganda, and he also was the lead architect of the kristallnachet attack.

  3. Proppaganda is the spreading of information to promote a cause, using a tool such as the newspaper,t.v,or a magazine. The Nazi philosophy was to kill the Jews ,and everyone else that was not a "perfect German".There was a man named Paul Joesph Goebbles who was a big part of the horror because he was a associate of Hitlar.(One of the leaders of the propaganda)

  5. Propaganda is the spreading of information to promote a cause. For example, the Nazis used posters to give information about Hitler and that made people think that he was really nice and they won because all of the posters, advertisements on the T.V, and a lot of people voted for him because he had good way of spreading information. Joseph Goebbels was the leader in Nazi propaganda and he did a really good job in making people believing that Hitler was a good leader. But, the Nazi philosophy was to exterminate or kill the Jews, disabled people, and anyone that wasn't a "perfect" German.

  10. Nazi had a goverment that if one group ganed the most power in the parlement, concholed the contrey. Hitler was the leader of the Nazi goverment wich killed the jews, disabole, and inperfesin in the germen people.

  12. Propaganda is basically trying to influence someone to believe in their ideas of thinking. The Nazi philosophy was fascism, it allowed a dictatorship so strong that a dictator had full control of a country without even having to give any freedom to citizens. Then you had Joseph Goebbels who was the prime minister of communication but also spoke out against Jews and other groups of religion. Joseph Goebbels speeches helped sway more people to the Nazi philosophy with his strong-minded words.

  13. Propaganda was often used to share opinions and beliefs of religous problems. The Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant churches were once seperated because of propaganda and some people were not very happy of it.

  14. I never understood the reason behind Nazi Propaganda until I realized that they used this form of persuasion to convince people who despised or were skeptical of Hitler to become more fond of him and see things his way. One of the more popular propagandists was Joeseph Goebbels. He manipulated the German population so they would think that Hitler was doing the right thing for them instead of what was really going on.

  15. Propaganda is an extreme group of information convincing a reader of your opinion(s) of how you feel of a situation. The Nazi's philosophy was to create a master race by getting rid of all "dirty people" in germany. It was significnant in deciding and earning the trust of the majority of germany and others who disapproved of hilter and the Nazi perpective.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i cant belive that hitlar could do that to so many people the thought of it just inrages me. not just that but the way they did it. hitlar brain washed them to think it was okay to hurt the "dirt people".and they just crumbled into his hands. The things that Joseph Goebbels did was beyon okay. he burned 20,000 jewish books( but the nazis didnt just burn books they burned jews).

    ReplyDelete
  17. Joseph Goebbels was one of Hitler's devoted followers. He organized the day of National Labor which helped the Nazi takeover the German trade union movement. He also burned approximately 20,000 Jewish books.

  18. I think that was very rude what Hitler did to the Jews what did they ever do to him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I agree Viriel that propaganda was used to share opinions. But it was also used to persuade people to see things in your point of view. For example, propaganda can be seen on tv. For all the commercials to make you believe that a product is the best and that you should buy it instead of any others.

    ReplyDelete
  20. viriel how did the nazis use propaganda?????????

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey ariel i really like the way you worded that i think it sounds really good but what do you mean by "hilter was doing the right thing"

    ReplyDelete
  22. You are right Ariel. Propaganda is trying to convince a reader of your opinions of how you feel of a certain situation. Propaganda uses techniques for advertizing or discussing your arguements of an issue that you might have.

  23. I thought propaganda was a important way for Hitler and the Nazi's to gain some approval from the German population. They really were portrayed as cruel individuals who selfishly eliminated all other races to create the ultimate race of pure Germans, so propaganda helped manipulate the rest of the world to come under total power of Hitler. The only one good thing about Hitler, I think, is the fact that he fought for his country as much as possible. But besides that, propaganda was an important way to put the Nazi's plans into action and gain some trust from the Germans.

  24. Noah, Hitler and many other Nazi leaders were interested in starting extermination of drifferent races that they think they shouldn't be alive. Hitler hated the Germans, of course so he wanted to kill the "dirty people" so he made propaganda to conince the German Jews and Germans that he wated to kill them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. gloria i agree with you also how do you think the war would have been if the nazis used a differnt plan then propaganda?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Do you think Hitler is a great leader or not? Based on GLoria's information the Nazi wanted to gain approval but at the same time he wanted to kill the Germans and Jews.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I neverunderstood the reason behind Nazi propaganda either i don't why he and Hitler didn't like Jews.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Viriel, I agree with your comment when you said "propaganda convinces people to believe in your point of view". Good point.

  29. The propaganda played a major part in the Holocaust. This was the key to Hitlers success and devistating event. The funny thing about it is he wasnt even the head of the propaganda Joe Gobbles was the head. Also many of the posters were designed by Joe Gobbles And showed many examples of subliminal messaging.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The propaganda Hitler used was quite admireable if you set aside the fact that it was the main reason so many Germans supported the torture Jews recived. Hitler alone was not doing all the posters or radio broadcast to capture Germany's attention he had a close friend; a master mind behind the whole propaganda...Joe Goebble's. His advertising methods of Hitler's ideas were almost impossible to think the Jews weren't doing something wrong.
Joe Goebbles helped Hitler achive his dream land, a Volkgemeinschaft society. basically a place where everyone was under Hitler's command and would listen to anything he ordered. In the end it didn't succed but with out the propaganda The Holacaust would probably never have started.

    ReplyDelete
  31. EddieP I agree that Hitler was Very inconsiderat to the jews knowing that people are people and they cant change their physical features.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Noah, very strong visual image. The Germans just crumbled into Hitler's hands. Great visual.

    ReplyDelete
  33. in my studies i found that the germans used mostly anti-jew campaigns that would only discriminate the jews instead of helping their own propaganda. some of their techniques were things such as wanted ads for gypsies and even anti-jew parade floats. it was like the media controlled everything during this time.

  34. I think its ridiculous that Nazis would be standing front of jewish stores just to make shore they would lose buisness some of the signs wre totally made up to like one said
"for your own safty dont buy things from Jewish stores"

  35. I reaserched about a typical day in a consentration camp and I never relized how cruel the gaurds where. In an interview the person talked about how a gaurd punched a 13 year old in the head in front his dad and killed him instently. That was all for no reason too. Also they were forced to stand attention for 2 hours and the slightest movement would cause 25 hits.

  36. If you think about it Hitler acually was a great leader he was just leading the wrong stuff. I mean, he turned an intire contry against a race of people in a short period of time. I dont think that any of our leaders today could do that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Eddie P- im not sure of the exact reason either but in my opinion i think that the slaughter of jews was just something that got the crowds attention. sort of like something that the voters would only agree with him because he did it. like somebody said in another post the germans actually LIKED the slaughter of the jews. then after he took control he just did it to keep control.

    ReplyDelete
  38. wow varial you really got a lot of info on the propoganda. I didnt even know that the nazis burned any of the jewish books.

  39. Hitler an insane man an killed millions of people. Propaganda played a huge part is his plan to exterminate the jews and other races he thought were beneath the Germans. For example the german jews were the main target of his hate.He and his Nazi compains made horrble posters and songs about them and blamed the jews for there hard times befor Hitler was in power.Propaganda helped Hitler turn Germany aganst a race of people by spining a web of lies to the German people.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hitler used propaganda as a weapon against the Jews. His methods of convincing the german race to exterminate the jews used very powerful messages. I learned that a key player in Hitlers use of propaganda was a man by the name of Joseph Goebbels. When Hitler became chancellor in January of 1933 he appointed Goebbels as minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Propaganda was also used to let nazis express there opinions.

    ReplyDelete
  41. zach P i agree with you a hundred percent he was insane and killing people he thought were beneath him was very wrong he didnt have no right to do it and i t drives me crazy. and turning germany against a race that was different than thier own was stupid the jews should of fought back and hung him. in my oppinion.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I found that propaganda is information presented selectively to influence groups of people. I understand why propaganda is important to know when learning about Hitler because he used it as a major part of his takeover. He tried to convince people to work towards the "pure German" cause. The Jews were blamed for the war, said to be genetically inferior, and blamed for the economic problems. Nazi propaganda reminds me of segregation in the U.S. because the lied told that Jews were inferior is similar to the belief of Americans that African Americans were dirty and less important. Unity was another cause to the mass killings because Hitler believed that separating Jews from the racially pure would create a whole country. I don't think that this worked because sepation caused exactly that.......separation. Posters portraying the Jews as bad because people were scared to speak up in fear of being killed.

  45. I thought Hitler did what he thought was right and in many peoples' eyes back then he was right however in peoples' eyes now a days what he did was wrong. Nazi's philosophy was not to only kill the jews but anyone who was not in the Nazi's community, anyone who was handicapped, homosexual, mental, and etc were to be kiled. I think Hitler was a great leader with a messed up mind. He didn't manipulate anyone, he just stated what he thought was right and many people believed him, just as Obama did (the stating their opinion and people believing it part, not the killing part).

    (this is just my opinion:])

    ReplyDelete
  46. Propaganda is when Adolf Hitler told people to follow his rules and way of life in order to survive. If they didn't obey him they would soon then die. Propaganda was an important tool for the Nazi's because Hitler brainwashed everyone to think he was a good guy when in actuality he wasn't. He tricked people and killed them as well if they were Jewish. "Propaganda is also the dissemination of information to influence or control large groups of people". Which to me I don't think it's right to control people. They're there own person. They know how to control themselves. I don't understand why someone in the right mind would want to kill so many people just because of there nationality. They can't help if they're jewish or not. For someone to kill so many innocent people because of that is horrible! Hitler lied to the people telling them there going to be safe and in all actuality they weren't.

What do you think the NAzi's thought when their "plan" to purify the world collapsed?

  49. Eddie P. Hitler did not like Jews because they were different and they supposivley dressed and looked dirfferent in the face and a different religion then others so he killed them to make everyone the same.

  50. Propaganda is the spread of information aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of a large number of people. It was a very important tool for the Nazis. Without propaganda they wouldn't have been able to convince people that what they were doing was good for the country. The Nazis believed they were superior to all others and they blamed the Jews for losing World War I this made Hitler's campain based on the destruction of Jews and he also used this to persuade people that the violence towards the Jews was neccessary.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Propaganda is the art of persuasion- persuading others that your side of the story is correct. In Nazi Germany, propaganda is an important factor in building power for Hitler and the Nazi party, because, although they were the largest political party in Germany they didn’t have the majority votes. So, those who didn’t support the Nazi party needed to be convinced that it was “Pointless to continue their opposition”. Hitler appointed Dr. Joseph Goebbels to as minister of propaganda and national enlightenment. As minister of enlightenment had two main tasks: to ensure nobody in Germany that would be destructive to the Nazi party and to ensure the views of the Nazis were seen in the most persuasive manner. To get there point across, Goebbels set up the Reich Camber of Commerce in 1933. The organization dealt with books, art, music, radio, film, newspapers, etc. To make any of these you had to belong to the camber. The Nazis decided if you got in or not. No one could produce or publish anything if they were not admitted. This was the Nazi censorship. By May 1933 the first book burnings began. As the author Brecht said “Where one burns books, one eventually burns people”. That’s exactly what happened. Films and what was seen in cinemas was dealt the same way to.

The Obama/ Hitler metaphor was pretty good. I think his childhood conributed greatly to how he grew up. He was a great leader, but a total crackpot

  53. Propaganda is a type of message that is used to persuade others and promote a cause. Propaganda was the main tool in the Nazi party being able to convince so many to come to their side. Many people disliked Hitler and the Nazi party, so they used propaganda to persuade others to agree with their opinions and views. The man behind the Nazi's propaganda strategies, was Joseph Goebbels.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The purpose of the Nazi propaganda was to persuade others that the Germans side of the story was correct.
Joseph Goebbels was in charge of the propaganda while Hitler was in control. The Nazis made sure everything that gave a different opinion of what they did not consider was right was destroyed, Books, Movies E.T.C. That to me means everyone had a brain and a mind of their own that they weren’t allowed to use. The Nazis later made movies of their propaganda that had stuff in it that they considered “right”.
During the spring of 1933 the Nazis moved to eliminate opposition political parties. In July the Nazi party was the only legal party. Which somewhat sounds like they dominated every thing, and controlled a lot of things that Hitler would allow.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Propaganda in Germany was the main strategy for the Nazis. They put posters around Germany describing the jews as bad, horrible people. They had also tried to convince that they do not belong in an area of germans.
To be able to convince people of their beliefs Nazis had to burn (remove) all books from libraries stating any ‘offending’ information about Nazis.

  58. In Germany, propaganda was the central way of communicating to the people. There were signs and posters posted up all over. These signs and posters were an important tool because it was a way of getting messages/ information out to the public. Propaganda all began by the skills that helped Hitler expand to leading candidate in Germany’s presidential election. A man, named Joseph Goebbels, was a man that was most responsible for Hitler’s election campaign; he contributed to the propaganda by helping Hitler influence the people of Germany.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Propaganda is the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person. This is exactly what Hitler did to rise to power. Hitler used the Nazis to carry out his hatred toward Jews. The Nazis also helped him hurt the Jews. Propaganda was such an important tool for the Nazi’s because back then, the Nazi party never won a majority of votes at elections. Nobody had ever agreed with their ideas. So that’s when propaganda came into play. The Nazi’s then began to persuade people who did not believe in the Nazi party that their ideas and beliefs were correct. This was done by using posters, signs, billboards, stickers, flags, speeches…anything you could think of was done to persuade the people that Jews were not perfect and needed to be eliminated. Joseph Goebbels was the head of the Nazi propaganda. He was known as the Minister of Propaganda and National Enlightenment. Goebbels’ job was to make sure nothing in Germany was hostile or damaging to the Nazi party. His most important job was to make sure that the Nazi propaganda was spread in the most persuasive manner possible. This man is the reason why this propaganda had such a big impact in Europe.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Nazi propaganda played a big part of Hitler’s takeover. Newspapers, posters, films, art, music, literature etc. are all forms of propaganda. The Nazi’s as well as Hitler himself made up different thing to capture the eye of German people. They made posters showing how bad the Jewish people were and that they needed to be destroyed. When Hitler came into office he was very well notified on how popular good propaganda was. Hitler’s propaganda showed him as a gifted man that created jobs and restored German stability. His plan to disgrace the Jewish race would have more jobs for only the German people. This kind of propaganda eliminated the Jewish people example: People were looking out for Jews and they might have turned them over to the Nazi army/soldiers. My opinion on the whole thing is that why would you kill people that haven’t done anything to you. Also if you wanted to put them in concentration camp why use extra money creating them when you could jus flee they out of the German area.

  61. I never knew what propaganda was until I did this research. Propaganda is to spread information to get a cause. Propaganda was an important tool for the Nazis because they wanted people to know about them. They put up poster, books and even made movies. The Nazi’s were out to kill anyone that wasn’t a “perfect” German. Joseph Goebbels was the leader of propaganda. Hitler was voted for because of How J. help spread the idea.

  66. Propaganda is used to spread information and often gets people to do what you want if you do it in the right way. Like Hitler, he used propaganda to win the election, he used things like posters, T.V, and the newspaper. When you use propaganda the way Hitler did, you will probably get what you want.

  69. Propaganda was a very signifigant tool for the Nazis because without it, Hitler never would have gained control to express his harsh oppinion. All kinds of propaganda were used to convince Germans to believe that Hitler can improve Germany's economy and bring them back to power. Some of this propaganda was, posters, or even board games that convince Germans to listen only to German radio stations, and punsished the player if they move on a space that says they listened to a Jewish radio station. This method of propaganda is pure brain wash, and as we can see actually worked to bring Hitler and his oppinions to power.

  75. When I began this topic I was curious as to why the Nazis used propaganda. Then I researched and found out that Hitler's men did this to persuade the citizens that disapproved of Hitler to trust him more. Using the media, radio, press, and artwork, this made the "skeptics" THINK that Hitler was making the right decisions. However, it wasn't until he was gone that the citizens knew that this was all a mistake. That Hitler was truely a mad man.

    ReplyDelete
  76. What was the point of the nazi propaganda?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I agree Alex that this destruction of the Jewish economy made Germany's money decrease. It seems that instead of helping his country, Hitler did more harm than good.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Propaganda was really important for Hitler to concieve the rest of the world into accepting the ideas of Hitler and the Nazi's. Besides, how else are you going to convince the entire population of Germany and the rest of Europe to do such cruel things, such as persecute the Jews? I also thought Hitler's quality of a being a exceptional speaker, like Obama, really lured many Germans' and others' attention, by saying so many good things about Germany and how he was going to bring change to them, but it really hid the consequences of this plan inside, just like icing on a cake. No one really knew what Hitler was planning on doing, such as killing over 6 million people in his lifetime! But the only good thing about Hitler, is that he gave 110% into fighting for the welfare of Germany, so I applaud him for his strong character.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I have a question for some of the people who answered this question - Why did Hitler kill himself? I thought it was because Russia was at war with Germany and they were powerful too, and they were about to take over Germany, even though Hitler had NEVER lost before, and Hitler surrendered to that horrific incident.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Chris P. I think you did a good job on explaining Nazi Propaganda.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Keke B. - I also liked your comment on the Obama/Hitler comparision. While Hitler is more of a evil mastermind and Obama is more laid-back, I think its important for people to know that Hitler was an exceptional speaker, like Obama, and that was a key tool in taking over Germany and a good quality that Hitler had.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I found the same thing as Kasey, the Germans didn't use propaganda as things to support them and donate money or something to help them. But mainly advertisments of things about the race or groups of people they were after. Many lies were made up against Jews so people in Germany would think they were doing bad things so people would turn against them and support Hitler, it was never really a support Germany thing, it was more of a hate the Jews Becuse they are terrible people doing terrible things!

  87. Jorsan K - That I truely don't know, I would think having such a great amount of Jews that they would actually have stood up and tried fighting back and doing something, as I would like to believe I myself would do but I gues sthey really couldn't becuase they were out powered with guns and so forth of having German support to were they could be able to fight back and have a chance at winning.

  100. EssenceH i also agree with jacki t propaganda was very much deep[er than that hitloer did alot of cruel things that he shouldnt and had no right to do.

  101. dana p i also agree how is he going to be embarressed about like anybody really looks at him like that but he shouldnt try to eliminate a race just because they were differnet how would he feel if someone was trying to eliminate his race and him because he was different he probably wouldnt like it if the shoe was on the other stinky foot.

  102. The Nazi’s understood the power and effectiveness of using propaganda to brainwash people into believing in Hitler and all of his ideas and plans to kill people inferior to them. The reason propaganda worked is because it was played weekly announcements on film, loudspeakers, radio, and television. The most famous propagandist of all time was Joseph Goebbels. When he was rejected for service in World War 1 because of a crippled foot he joined the NSDAP in 1922. Goebbels was the head minister of propaganda for Hitler and was responsible for sending out weekly propaganda announcements.

  103. i agree with tyler s. because hitler was a very sick man when he would do all those things to the jews and wanted the nazis to rule all of germany.

Your missing the point of my camparison, as i sayed before i wasn't talking about who Hitler killed of who Obama didn't, i was comparing because they were both good leaders, and excellent speakers and people follwed them becuase they persuaded them to. Sure Obama made life terrible for millions but he also made it great for pure German people. Many people hate Obama too.

  105. I think that Hitler did a horrible thing to the Jew's and the other people auxh as homosexual's, catholics. communists, social democrats, union leader, handicaped, gypsies and even artists who painted jewish things. So why kill all of those people that go in those category's i mean really they didn't do anything to deserve how to die! I just don't understand why he killed everyone who isn't the perfect race blond hair, blue eyed, and tall he wasn't that way. He had brown hair so why was that the perfect race????

    ReplyDelete
  106. I undertand know that Hitler killed the Jews becuase they were differnt from what he called perfect(blue eyed, blonde ,and tall). Hilter had the Jews put in camps he had them killed by gas, being shot, starved do death, or anyting else he could find to do to them.I dont think you should be judged on how you look on the outside but on the inside. Why does Hitler wants people to perfect ,thats something they can never be

  107. Hannah AWESOME Davidson. Hitler wanted to kill the Jews because they werent perfect in his mind blond blueeyed people were perfect and the Jews didn t fill that description

  108. Propaganda was a different, sick kind of way to persuade people by using speeches t.v posters and other things that were used as entertainment.Hitler would persaude the Germans into joiing him and do things that they probably would not do.He would lure the crowds in with music and march down streets and leave behind destruction

  109. Kevin D that is almost unbeliveable how Hitler got everybody to believe him using propoganda. Especially how it wasn't only Hitler and Joe Goebble was a big help. I agree how the holocaust wouldn't have ever happened if there was no propoganda. One thing i learned about Propoganda in my reasearch was that Hitler used many films and recordings to make himself look good and the jews look horrible.

I never knew that propaganda meant persuading and influencing the opinions of behaviors of a large number of people. What really suprised me is that Hitler made millions of come me to his side or believe him by using propaganda. Nazi propaganda was a tool that the Nazi" used to make people believe them. One way they used propaganda was by making films that made Hitler and the Germans look good and the Jews look bad.

  111. Zach i agree with you hitler did kill many people and used propaganda to make people come to his side or believe him that the Jews were bad which they weren't. I think Hitler was a bad person for doing that because the Jews never did anything wrong.

I don't really think people killed other people by hanging them back then. This was in the 1930s-1940s. Also, like Essence said, there were many attempts to assasinate Hitler, so people DID try to kill him.

  113. the whole holocaust thing in my opinion was really really really really sad because to many people died and suffered. I liked learning about the holocaust because i learned alot of new things. I already about hitler killing many jews but i never really 100% understood it. so this research project really helped me understand the holocaust.

  114. jordan K I know what propaganda is.Propaganda is a type of message used to persuade people such as the Jews, and Jahovia witnesses.I still sort of dont get what propaganda did to be the most important part to help in the Holocaust and that it is the key to Hitlers success.

who were the nazis trying to persuade? Did they use propaganda on children and Adults??

  117. Propoganda can also be described as "the art of persuasion" as a tool, it was used to persuade people to think highly of the Nazis and their wrongdoings towards the jewish.
    examples of propaganda are:http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/posters2.htm
the german philosophy???: to make sure no negative stuff was put out about the nazis, put out as much persusive material as possible.
    my MY WORDS/AUTHORS WORDS:
The main reason why so many Germans followed the Nazis was their deceitful propaganda. From 1920 on, the Nazis focused on the German youth to join into the Nazi party. They sent messages to classrooms and extracurricular activities. THAT’S HORRIBLE! Because the Nazis are most known for their hateful, inhumane crimes, and incorporating kids into the mix is disheartening. The Nazis released a massive campaign to somehow earn the trust and support from fellow Germans. They controlled the contents of books, magazines, magazines, etc. So they really wanted to get their point across. Joseph Goebbels (a minister) was appointed as head of propaganda. He was a compulsive liar and was even dubbed the “father of lies”. He believed the bigger the lie, the more people would believe it. He was told to make sure that nothing negative toward the Nazis was released about the Nazis and that the propaganda was as persuasive as possible.

  118. jackie t when you say the propaganda was deeper than trying to persuade others that what hitler was doing was correct. how much deeper was it?

  120. IT seems to me that most of you know basically what propaganda means. However in my opinion, propanganda is the basic way into persuading an easy target that your thinking is the best and right way to think. As I learned more about the propaganda I read that it's said to be the art of persuasion. In 1933 the Nazis were probably the biggest political party, but without the propaganda the wouldn't have gotten the support they got from Germans. Hitlers brain to the propaganda was Joseph Goebbels, or so called Minister of the propaganda. Goebbels would hold rallies for supporters, also he would teach Nazis how they could spread information. They would do this through television, the radio, and posters in public places, Plus, nazis were told to go into libraries and burn any books against the Nazi beliefs. Goebbels met up to Hitlers standards very well, considering he had two easy tasks.
    1. To ensure nobody in Germany could read or see anything that was hostile or damaging to the Nazi party.
    2. To ensure that the views of the Nazis were put across in the most persuasive manner possible.
The only thing I wonder is how could a large group of people be so cruel?

  123. I did not that Hitler started his own political
party. I found out that he created the party to push the Nazi's radical program, which required the acquiescene, support, or participation of broad sectors of the population.
This is open to anyone, is there any other reasons he started his own political paryt?

  124. From my understanding, propaganda is a type of persuasding. Imagine this, you walk into school one day and people are laughing at you. You soon find that there is a poster saying that your inferior to everyone else around you. Well thats what the Jewish kids had to go through. The teachers would (in a way) make fun of you also. All because of one poster. There were posters as well as books that made Jewish people feel left out, and uncomfortable around their peers.

  125. Rebekah Kovitz-
Rebakah that is a great description of propaganda and it's a sad thing that people like that are so cruel. I’ve heard from other resources that the reason people like Hitler are so cruel is because of his childhood. When Hitler was younger, his father would abuse him as well as his mother. So I guess that when Hitler grew up, he had become so immune to abuse that it had become second-nature. With a troubled childhood, most people are lead to believe that this period in time had lead him to such cruel extremes.

  126. one thing i learned about this topic is that the word propaganda means to spread information to get a cause.

  127. Eric B. you said the propoganda would "brainwash" people. I totally agree. As much as the Nazis through around that persuasion the more people got use to hearing it, seeing it, and eventually beleiving it.
